THE COMPLETE WRITINGS OF ELBERT HUBBARD (Author's Edition).

East Aurora, NY: 1908-1915.

Limited edition. McKenna # 159. Very Good. Item #8840

11 3/8" x 8 1/4". #119 of 1000 sets, with all volumes numbered and SIGNED BY ELBERT HUBBARD. Printed on Roycroft hand-made paper in three colors. Title page and initials by Dard Hunter. 3/4 morocco in either brown or green. Spine with 4 raised bands and tooled Art Deco style design in black with gilt lettering. T.E.G. Untrimmed. Portraits in photogravure throughout. Volume I is inscribed by Elbert Hubbard II to "Katie M. Smith, 1952". The spines of the volumes bound in brown have lightly faded to red-brown.There is foxing mostly light to some volumes and others have only an occasional spot. Many of the volumes have no flaws, but some have light rubbing to joints, spine tips or corners, a few have rubbing to the raised bands. Volume 11 has a small nick to top of spine and Volume 20 shows the most wear, as the joints are more rubbed and it also has a light stain to the page edges of the first 60 pages. Still a very nice attractive set.
