Small folio. 13 1/2 x 9 3/4”. Limited Edition #169 of 540 copies on Fabriano hand-made watermarked paper. Un-cut. Illustrated with 25 photogravures from photographs by Lejaren A. Hiller. Plus two typed and signed letters from Kendall Banning, to “Eaton”. The first letter dated 1915, is a thank you for his acknowledgement and review, the second letter, dated 1920, is more friendly and discusses poetry mentioning a publication called “The Scoop” and a young poet named “Pulsifer” (Harold Trowbridge?). Also included are the original prospectus and a Brothers of the Book subscriber’s letter. Ex-libris of J. Rossell Wells. Dark green laid paper over boards with vellum spine. Light wear to covers. Top of spine has 3” split at fold and wear to ends. Inner hinge starting and sewn binding separating but still quite sound. Interior nice.
