Original watercolor of a sea battle in the Phillipine Islands. SIGNED BY MORRIS. 13.5 x 19" on watercolor paper measuring 17 x 22.5". Light soiling to margins tape on verso.
Morris known as an American surrealist, was also an official US Army artist in WWII, and served in the Pacific Front against the Japanese. At the end of the war John Floyd Morris was in London where he met and was befriended by Edward James, who was a associated with the Surrealist movement. -ask art.
