This is Leonard Bacon's first book. He later won the 1941 Pulitzer Prize for Poetry for his satiric poems "Sunderland Capture."
Chauncey and Henrietta were members of the Goodrich family of San Francisco and were the parents of Chauncey Goodrich, Jr., scholar and professor of East Asian studies.
