Introduction by G.K. Chesterton. This collection of early Austen writings contains "Love and Friendship" a short novel told as a series of letters and written in 1790 when Jane was 15 years old; "Lesley Castle" (1792), an unfinished novel told in letters; "The History of England" (1791) a satire that pokes fun of English history books; a collection of letters; and "scraps" made up of short occasional pieces. Spine label a little worn and lifting at tips. Cloth is faded on spine and a little spotty on edges. Endpapers toned a little. Interior very clean and nice.
