Folio. Illustrated. Text in French. Cerceau, architect and engraver published Livre d'architecture in 1559, containing fifty models of residences for all classes of society and for all pocketbooks. The Second livre d'architecture published in 1561, contains motifs useful for the decoration of the interior and exterior parts of the house and the Third Livre d'architecture illustrates another thirty-eight residences. All three books are gathered here in facsimile including the original illustrations and pagination. Plain red cloth binding, spine stamped in gold, has light fading to spine andedge of front cover. Ownership name marked out on front and rear endpapers.
